Stacks of region free Blu-ray available to UK PS3 owners

blu-ray-logo.jpgFor those 165,000 who purchased a PS3 since Friday's release, the majority will have overlooked one of the key selling points, Blu-ray functionality. With every machine comes the cheapest, but also one of the best performing players available on the market today.

Following Simon's video, we thought we'd give you a heads up on which movies are region free, essentially saving you some of your well earned money.

Lindsite has an incredibly detailed list on every Blu-ray release to date, citing the quoted region along with whether or not it'll play in non Region A players.

Being British, we're pigeon-holed into Region B, which means we tend to pay a slight premium above our North American based friends, due in part to V.A.T and taxation which can vary from country to country, However, importing titles that do work on Region B players can often save you pounds, and on larger order, even more. Some of the most notable titles are:

16 Blocks, Aeon Flux, Babel, Blazing Saddles - A classic we'll have you know - Crash and Goodfellas. The list is being updated regularly, so do check back occasionally for updates. We're ordering now.
