As pointed out by Kotaku, PC-shooter Crysis might be heading to the PS3, according to a job listing on the Crytek website. A recent listing on the company's jobs page indicates that it's looking for a PS3 coder. The responsibilities for the position include “Work on various aspects of porting to PS3 and creating solutions to get the utmost out of the PS3.”

It’s pretty tempting to jump to conclusions, even though nothing official's been announced. What will be fascinating is to see how the PS3 copes with the game. Crysis looks like the prettiest game ever made by an appreciable distance, in my opinion. I'd argue that the PC’s usually been the home of cutting edge graphical achievement. We’ve yet to see if the PS3 can match the graphical achievements of the PC: developers are still learning how to optimise the PS3 properly, so I’m sure we’ve not seen its full potential yet. Will the cell shine through in a PS3 port of Crysis? I hope we get to find out.
