GAME's monopoly grows with Gamestation takeover

GAME_logo_better.jpgGAME has just acquired the Gamestation chain of stores in an impressive £74m deal.

MCV has reported that the two brands will be kept separate as the GAME name wants to focus on the mainstream consumers with Gamestation continuing to be marketed as a store for the hardcore gamer.

GAME chairman Peter Lewis said: "By investing in both brands we will further enhance the group's retail strategy while continuing to deliver and broaden our consumer reach. I am confident that this transaction will add considerable value to GAME and its shareholders over the coming years."

But with GAME rumoured to be having a fall-out with Ubisoft and not stocking their titles, does this mean it’ll be even harder to PS3 owners to get a copy of Oblivionfor the console?
