PlayStation store gets Pain-ful

Take one Havoc physics engine, add one human-sized slingshot, lightly marinade a developer with Jackass for a couple of nights and add a dash of high definition graphics – that’s a pretty good recipe for PlayStation Store title right there. Sony has been showing off this upcoming addition to the PSN, which lets you load a hapless person into your giant slingshot then launch him skyward (or rather skyscraperward), with points being awarded for causing the most amount of pain. Which is what inspired the game’s name: Pain.

It isn’t going to be a particularly cerebral affair – injuries to the groin get you extra points – but then that’s not what you expect from Arcade-esque PlayStation Store titles. There will be a number of gameplay modes as well, including HORSE, Spank the Monkey and Mime Toss. Players will also be able to generate their own content in the form of replays which can then be uploaded to the web. – although this would seem to offer only limited appeal. Via Joystiq.
