According to US retailer EB Games, we’re not going to see Metal Gear Solid 4 until 2008, as reported by CVG. According to Game Swank, those on the EB Games mailing list for updates on the game have received an email stating that the intended release date has gone from the first of September 2007 to the first of March 2008.

While this is far from an official confirmation, it's got a ring of truth to it. The series has a massive fan following and Kojima will want to get this one right. I don't think it's a bad thing that it’s been held up. It’s important for the PS3 that Metal Gear Solid 4 is a great game. It’s one of the last really big platform exclusives left for the console. Metal Gear Solid 4 has to be the challenge to the Xbox 360's Gears of War, Halo 3 and Dead Rising. At least September's already a good month for PS3 games.
