Blair joins in the Resistance/Church debate...
Tony Blair has responded to the complaints expressed by the Church over Resistance: Fall of Man, telling Parliament that companies must take responsibility for the impact their products have.
During the Prime Minister's Questions the issue came up, and Blair’s response was to say (as reported on Gamesindustry.biz); “I think it's important that any of the companies engaged in promoting these types of goods have some sense of responsibility and also some sensitivity to the feelings of others. I think this is an immensely difficult area, the relationship between what happens with these games and its impact on young people.
"I've no doubt this debate will go on for a significant period of time, but I think it is important that people understand there is a wider social responsibility as well as an interior responsibility for profits."
So far the game’s developer Insomniac has declined to comment, whilst Sony is trying to contact Church authorities to discuss and resolve the concerns.
