Capcom’s statement for the upcoming financial year has no listings for a Resident Evil 5 release for the PS3. It’s a pretty good sign that Capcom isn’t planning to unleash Resident Evil 5 over the next fiscal year, which ends on March 31st, 2008. At least Devil May Cry 4 is due a little sooner.

Resident Evil 4 left a lot of questions unanswered. While it was a necessary evolution for the series in terms of game mechanics, it almost felt like a sidestory at times. The sinister Umbrella, once at the heart of all super-villianry in the series, got barely a mention. I’m hoping that part five takes it back to corporate evil and zombies. Although based on the teaser trailer, the baddies seem a little faster this time round.
