Sony's gone and dumped some staggeringly nice new shots of GT5 Prologue up over on its official site, including a load that illustrate the game's new cockpit viewpoint.

Despite the rear-view mirror being handled by a Mega Drive emulator, the game looks sensational. There's clearly more trackside deatil than current rival Forza 2, and with Sony promising full 1080p HD for GT5, it should, almost definitely, be the killer game PS3 needs.

The full game's still languishing with a "2008" release date, although this stripped down Prologue teaser edition is out this October, virtually, via the PlayStation Network.
