New GTA IV gameplay details

IV.jpgThanks to a GTA IV preview in GamesTM, we’ve now got some more info on its gameplay features, including multiplayer – yay!

One multiplayer mode will allow players to face off against each other on the city streets, but we reckon this may get tiresome if the size of the last GTA ‘world’ was anything to go by! But it sounds like as you progress it’ll get a bit easier because as players commit crimes, their wanted level will rise to the point of seven stars when their location will be revealed on the radar.

As far as the single-player campaign is concerned, the mag says that the in-game Internet will play an important part. One example describes the main character Niko, uploading his CV in application for a job - an interview at which the boss becomes mincemeat. Another technological twist is the use of Niko's mobile phone, used to order weapons, so hopefully there won't be too many more laborious trips to ammunition shops. Look at GTA get with the technology, eh?

The mag also says that the police's artificial intelligence has been ramped up, and we’re not sure how good this will be, as sometimes the police just get in the way of our killing sprees! Similar to Driver: Parallel Lines, players are likely to experience more realistic chase scenarios. Well as long as we can still pick up hookers, get our kicks and then run them over to get our money back, we’ll be happy bunnies…
