Rumbling SIXAXIS confirmed by SCEA employee, says Kotaku

Img3760_tif_jpgcopy.jpgGaming website Kotaku has reported that an SCEA employee has confirmed that a SIXAXIS controller with rumble is headed towards the PS3. It’s not the first rumour to come out concerning the rumbling controller, now that Sony’s resolved its differences with rumble technology company Immersion Corporation.

I'd definitely be surprised if rumble technology doesn't appear on the PS3 in some form. It’ll be interesting to see whether a new rumble-capable controller becomes the PS3 mainstay, or whether it’ll be an optional extra. Also, while rumble sixaxis controller is a good start, I wonder if we'll see the technology for controllers geared towards certain types of games. I could imagine rumble going quite well with custom game controllers, perhaps aimed at more casual games.
