Game Informer has revealed that sci-fi FPS Section 8 is headed towards next-gen consoles some time in 2009. It’s developed by TimeGate Studios and set to be published by Gamecock Media Group. It features an elite unit of infantry wearing powered armour -going by the name of Section 8- who have the unenviable job of countering attacks on Earth’s frontier colonies.

While details are thin on the ground, it’s quite promising. TimeGate Studio’s F.E.A.R. expansion pack (unfortunately missing from the PS3 release) was brief, but good fun, and they’ve definitely shown themselves capable of crafting a well-paced, action-packed FPS. More news on this as we get it.
