Rock Band PS2 bound, but not until 2008

strat.jpgA wealth of Rock Band information coming out of EA this afternoon has included the confirmation that we won’t be seeing the ambitious Rock Band until early in 2008. No particular reasons have been made officially know, but rumours point towards the simple complexity and time required to create enough of those peripherals for a worldwide launch.

On the plus side, PS2 gamers can hold off on upgrading to one of the ‘big boy’ consoles just yet if cash is a problem, with EA also announcing that a PS2 version is in the works, which “will also debut new game elements specific to the platform”.

That’s not all, with another ten tracks also confirmed, bringing the total to 26 announced thus far. Including the likes of Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, Nine Inch Nails, and The Clash, EA have managed to include some cracking tunes.
