Warhawk afflicted by freeze glitch

Warhawk has only been out in Europe for a little under 24 hours, but already there are worrying complaints emerging. The problem seems to be the age old bane of video games: the freeze glitch. Already hundreds of users are reporting their problems via forums and message boards – just type ‘Warhawk freeze glitch’ into Google and see for yourself.

I can add my own eye witness evidence to those claims, because over the course of yesterday afternoon the game completely seized up on me twice. And that’s not just a ‘ooops, you’re back to the main menu’ crash; I’m talking full blown, nothing works, crazy screen patterns, no PS button, nada. That leaves you having to turn off the PS3 directly, which – judging by the angry beeping noise it makes – is an action it likes not at all.

That was only on one console I tried it on (a friend’s), my own I left running a dedicated server all day and it was still working fine when I came back. Nonetheless, the volume of these complaints means we’re undoubtedly on fast track to patch city.
