First Resistance: Fall of Man sequel details?

Resistance still manages to remain as one of the PS3’s flagship games and is selling strong, despite arriving as one of the console’s main launch titles. That’s impressive because launch titles are often marred by the fact that the developers are still learning the way round the new system or saddled with changing, incomplete development kits to work with. Take Xbox 360’s Perfect Dark Zero as a prime example.

But with Resistance still holding its own and with a very strong multiplayer following, it would be no surprise to hear that there’s a sequel in the works. And so we have – the details are very sparse, early and pretty much unconfirmed, but there’s probably at least a grain of truth in there somewhere. Here’s the skinny:

Release is tentatively set for next November (more like Q2 2009 then).
Sgt. Nathan Hale might be back. You might play him again.
The Chimera, despite all your efforts in the first game are still going strong and now have their beady mutant eyes set on the good ol’ US of A, therefore the game will largely feature US cities San Francisco and Chicago.
The game sets up a cliff-hanger ending (eugh – I’m getting Halo 2 flashbacks) for a third game – set in Australia then, perhaps?
    Multiplayer will now include vehicles.
Three new vehicles will be able to fly.
