Nintendo made a graph! Weekly sales show huge PS3 price cut spike
While miserable old ChartTrack is always reluctant to release UK hardware sales figures, they couldn't stop Nintendo spilling the beans for all of Europe last week. The red line represents PS3. Sony will be very pleased to see it pointing upwards for once.
PS3 sales went from around 20k a week to 60k thanks to the new 40GB one and the price slashing of the 60GB model, overtaking Xbox 360 and - JESUS H CHRIST! - almost managing to outsell Nintendo's Wii. But not quite. It's still by far the best sales PS3 has managed since its launch weeks.

The full results of Nintendo's financial briefing thing are on the internet here. They contain many other graphs, none of which are particularly good reading for anyone but Nintendo.

Why did nintendo shoot up? (Over 100 thousand units)
If this is a good representation of what is going on that is good, but I wixh if in two years we could open a 5th generation console fact book and see reasoning to these sales spikes and crap.
Nintendo is no competition to PS3 or Xbox, but they just seem to hold back so much info and telling consumers, "you can shit in one hand and put $250 dollars in the other and neither hand would have a better chance at getting a Wii this holiday." Is bullshit, because nintendo can make at least 250k units a month, any body remember NES if you could not find one you were blind.
I hate buying nintendo products and there PR makes me actually hate them.

Dear Daniel,
I'd imagine that the strange uptick in sales is due to one or more of these factors. a) an increase in units shipped to europe b) anticipation of Mario Galaxy or other games c) a Christmas pre-rush since Nintendo's announcement of a lack of supply d) It's getting cold and people want something to do indoors...

May I add that Daniel is a tool? The Wii is almost impossible to find. Do you not believe this? They sell every single unit they make. Phone any store and ask and you'll be laughed at. Oh and Nintendo's production numbers are in excess of 1.5 million a month by the way. So what the hell are you complaining about? Nintendo's PR are being honest and telling us they can't make enough. Would you rather have Sony telling you that you're stupid and that PS3 is obviously worth $600 and then next moment say oh, we lied and you were right!! Please buy our console and eventually we'll make a game. Maybe.

Just to clarify, Nintnedo manufactures a million Wii's a month. Then they are divided amongst the US, Japan, and Europe. There is a rumor that Ninendo has slowed shipments of the unit though, in order to put a big shipment out before Christmas (Knowing Nintendo, it wont be on Black Friday, the big Shopping day in the US).
