This is the same slightly hobbled 40GB PS3 we're getting tomorrow, with the stripped-out backwards compatibility, no memory card readers and the two USB sockets. It is also available in black.

And get ready to gnash those teeth a little bit further down - the price is 39,980 yen, something like £167 at current exchange rates. The all-white PS3 goes on sale in Japan from November 11 - and yes, there will be a white DualShock 3 released alongside it, although there's only a boring old SIXAXIS included in the box.
