Sony deny “Big Bang” announcement planned
Though the evidence is starting to stack up with regards to the rumoured introduction of a lower priced PS3 in the very near future, Sony - speaking to Eurogamer - have categorically denied that there’s any “Big Bang” announcement planned for next week.
Talk of a huge announcement coming next Friday has been drifting around for a week or so now, and this is Sony’s first official comment on the matter. A spokesperson stating that nothing has been officially announced, nor is anything currently planned.
Could this be Sony trying desperately to quell the rumours before the big announcement takes place? Or could it simply be that this is yet another case of an internet rumour trundling along without any solid facts to back it up? Personally, I reckon a lower price SKU is ready to be introduced, and Sony are frantically trying to keep things under wraps in order to make what they’d hoped to be a major shocking announcement. Let’s hope they come clean sooner rather than later.
