So much for the "next generation" then - PS2 still more popular than EVERYTHING

Guess what the most-played console over the last eight months in America has been? No. No. No! It's PlayStation2, which consumed a whopping 42.2% of total time spent playing console games between April and November of 2007.

And guess what was second? No. No. No! It was Xbox. Yes, Xbox. Xbox 1. The original Xbox, which clocked up 13.9% of total gaming minutes. Third was Xbox 360 on 11.8%, with Gamecube - Gamecube! - next on 7.1%, followed by Wii, then PS3 shamefully bringing up the rear with an abysmal 2.5% total of gaming hours.

And in case you don't believe me, as I do have a bit of a shady past based around manipulating figures to suit my own personal agenda, here's a graph:

A pretty brutal reminder that we are not the majority of gamers. The majority of gamers is happily still playing GTA III on PS2, occasionally embracing the future by playing a bit of Halo 1 on the old Xbox. Common savages.
