2007 Game Critics Awards are in - only one PS3 exclusive in the top ten
Most of the 2007 ‘Game of the Year’ awards have long been completed and are on view at almost every single major (and rubbish) gaming website available. The latest batch, the Game Critics Awards have finally gone live, with a pitiful single PS3 exclusive title in the top ten.
Voted on by a mass of video game media heavyweights (but no-one from Shiny, the silly sods) it was left to the bloody fantastic Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune to keep the PS3 head held high, with an appearance at the number ten slot. “Uncharted sets an action adventure benchmark by which all future games in the genre will be judged,” said Rob Smith, Editor of the Official Playstation Magazine.
Various multiplatform titles make for more PS3 titles in the top ten, with the odd inclusion of Assassin’s Creed at number nine, which in all honesty isn’t half the game it could have been. In fact, personally it was one of gamings biggest lowlights during 2007. I’d expected so much more.
God of War II at number 8 kept the PS2 in the minds of all true gamers. Spots seven, six and five were handled by some rubbish little games on other platforms, with Bioshock claiming the top spot, being praised as a “mind-blowing experience.”
One thing needs to be said. Where was bloody Ratchet and Clank?!
