First new Street Fighter IV character revealed

newsfivwoman.pngAs Capcom continue to drip feed their hungry and obsessive beat-'em-up fan base on the first Street Fighter IV game in the hugely popular fighting series, details have emerged of the first original character to star in the game. Stalwarts like Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li and Dhalsim are already confirmed as making a return, but this sultry and rather intimidating business women named Crimson Viper is the first completely new character to be revealed.

Kotaku spotted the picture on the NeoGAF forum, where a user had uploaded scans from the recent issue of Japanese gaming bible Famitsu. It's immediately apparent that the character looks much more like the kind of fighter seen in the SNK games that are the main rival to Street Fighter than a typical Capcom heroine. No details have yet emerged on her fighting style, but the information can only be moments away as translators get to work. Of course there are still no final details on the formats of SFIV, but Producer Yoshinori Ono has revealed that the game is going to be excessively multiformat, including main formats and even suggesting a PC and DS release. So a PS3 version looks very likely considering the series' heritage on the PS2 and the current availability of high end PS3 fighting sticks such as Hori RAP3s, Virtua Fighting Stick HGs and Sanwa and Seimitsu customs.
