Silent Hill Origins to haunt PS2 owners

SH0_24.jpgThe PSP's survival horror outing Silent Hill Origins is to be remade for the PS2. As reported by Gamespot UK, Konami today announced that the series is to return to its first home, with a reworked control scheme that should improve the original.

Other than that, it seems that Silent Hill Origins is unlikely to change much of the game. Again you'll play trucker Travis Grady, who is drawn into the mysterious town that has previously caused game characters so much anguish.

On the subject of Silent Hill ports, yesterday I spent a good hour or so of my day at the London ATEI 2008 amusements industry expo playing the new Silent Hill arcade light gun game, and while it doesn't quite rival the Time Crisis 4 arcade experience, it's a damn good machine that gives you far more playing time per credit than any other arcade game I care to think of, unless of course you have amazing skills at complete games on one credit. Based loosely on Silent Hill 2, it should be in arcades across the country soon, sporting it's own pitch back player area.

Game... too... short... for... home... console...

seriously. it took about three and a half hours for a (seasoned silent hill) player to finish the game. i have since then finished it in under a hour and am on my forth play through. the game is a solid title with great puzzels and loads of nostalga but it doesent belong on the PS2

Very good point. Let's hope a low price means it will be worthwhile. Let's not forget just how many PS2's are still in use everyday!
