Whenever people criticise the PS3, we've been known to respond in the manner of Wesley Snipes from Passenger 57 - "always bet on black". Now, we'll have to add "and white" at the end, which sounds a bit rubbish. Damn you, Sony!

The reason we'll have to find a new, catchy retort is that employees of US electronics retailer Circuit City have let slip that new shipments of PS3s have been arriving, with the model number CECHH01. A meaningless alphanumeric tag to most of us, but it's apparently the number for the white PlayStation 3, currently only available to our Japanese brethren. Interesting. It seems that these will be replacing the 40GB SpiderMan 3 bundle, and that they'll go on sale in March.

Of course, there's no confirmation from Sony as yet, and nothing announced for Europe. Patience, young Jedi - we're sure we'll hear some good news about this very soon.
