Duke Nukem release date announced! By somebody who shouldn't have

dukenukemforever_xmas2007.jpgIt's almost ten years since Duke Nukem Forever got 'annouced' so it's little to no surprise that when a concrete release date was revealed in the press today it was quickly refuted, but it still sounds like we might see a 2008 release.

Oddly, today the Dallas Business Journal broke the news that there would be a 2008 multiformat release, but soon after a post on the official 3D realms official website denied the claims, offering the familiar 'it's out when it's out' response. In the post, 3D Relams president George Broussard said "In what appears to be an unfortunate turn of events, there seems to have been some confusion between what was 'off the record' and what was not. I suppose we're used to dealing with gaming press and not mainstream press." Off the record? Perhaps that does suggest a 2008 release after all.

"The release date is still 'when it's done', and will be until the appropriate moment. Platforms have not been finalized or announced. You can rest assured that we are moving toward a goal and that the recently released teaser trailer is the start of that process and seeing more of the game, sooner than later" confirmed Broussard.
