Europe with a sub par new release week yet again
Its slap bang in the middle of traditional lull in decent new releases, and for some quite obscure reason, it seems that tomorrow will see a plethora of brand new gaming treats for the Sony branded consoles. Sadly, most are a load of old tripe.
The big one is, of course, Lost. Based on the TV series of the same name, the game is set out much more like ye olde point and click adventures of old. Unfortunately, both the dialogue and puzzles are dull as some particularly murky dishwater, and for those who aren’t Lost obsessives, there’s little to keep you interested. PSPSPS.tv verdict – Avoid.
As I commented yesterday, Lost Planet seems to be worth a miss, despite the budget price. With the ports quality dipping way below the PC and Xbox 360 standard, there’s little reason to pick this one up. PSPSPS.tv verdict – Avoid
It’s all been said about Persona 3 already, so we’ll simply leave you with a thoroughly high recommendation, and encourage you to go pick up a copy or twelve.
The first three Call of Duty titles have been lumped together at a cheap old price for those who have only sampled the series’ brand of modern warfare, and provides ample gaming pleasure for a cheap old price on the PS2. Sadly, the addition of Asterix at the Olympic Games, Sno Cross 2, and another of those bloody Spongebob Squarepants games don’t leave the PS2 drowning in a sea of true quality.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 makes its long awaited appearance on the PSP, with no doubt many hoping it has much in relation to the top quality PS2 version than the dire PS3 iteration. If you pick up a copy, leave a comment here and let us (well, me) know. If it’s any good it could just be utilised to while away a long train journey.
Oh, and remember to buy Persona 3. Do it.
