Forget MGS4 and GTAIV, LittleBigPlanet is the "biggest" PS3 game of 2008

lbp1.jpgRemember that poll over at ThreeSpeech, which proved that PS3 owners were ridiculously eager to get their hands on LittleBigPlanet? Well, it hasn’t gone unnoticed, as Sony have declared it to be “potentially our biggest Blu-ray release of 2008.”

Apparently set for a September release (far too blooming long a wait) and only to be released on the Blu-ray format, it seems that Sony have realised what a corking little game that they have on their hands.

It wasn’t so long ago that I was mocked for stating that LittleBigPlanet could be a real major system seller for the PS3. Maybe that was before the true potential of the quirky title was fully realised, but I maintain that I am indeed quite a clever chap in this case.

Can’t wait for it myself either. Does seem like a heck of a wait if September is firmly set in the PS3 release schedule, but if it means that it’s polished to absolute tip top condition, there’s little point in complaining. Or knocking up a petition to try and force Sony’s hand.

Or it could be another Viva Pinata, respected but not a massive seller.
I think GTA IV will still 'own it' in this regard as the kidz are wont to say these days.
