Gamers petition Sony to release Home Open Beta - won't make a jot of difference
It seems some gamers simply can’t wait for the release of the Home Open Beta, and have decided to travel down that much trekked route of knocking up an online petition to attempt to force Sony’s hand.
“We demand for Sony Computer Entertainment to release an open beta of the upcoming application,” states the petition. “This application has been in development for far too long, and there are simply not enough users in the current closed beta to receive proper feedback or proper testing for this application. We believe that with the introduction of more users via an open beta, development of Home will accelerate.”
A nice attempt, and already signed by close to 250 in its short time online. But there are, of course, a few problems. Firstly, these online petitions are knocked up numerous times every single day for an obscene amount of things. I’m sure we all know a student type who’s created one to get his favourite TV show back on air. Despite the fact that the last episode was 30 years ago.
Second, if Sony isn’t ready to release the Beta to all PS3 owners, why on earth should they? If it’s still a bug ridden mess, why would they want to inflict it upon the PS3 owning masses and lose consumer faith both in the console, and Home itself? They wouldn’t, and that’s why it’s not available yet. We’ll just have t wait a while longer.
