Midway pins date on European Unreal Tournament III PS3 release

ut3_.jpgAt the end of last year, Epic was using every opportunity to wax lyrical about its new Unreal Tournament title and how it would change the way we think about consoles, modding and cross-platform features. But, Christmas came, UT3 arrived across the pond and achieved some pretty decent reviews despite being just more of the same Unreal Tournament we’ve been playing for years with a nicer graphics engine. But Christmas soon passed by and there was no sign of our copies.

Apparently, poor old Europe wasn’t on Epic’s festive list and UT3 PS3 was unceremoniously put on hold until the US had all had a chance to play with it, get bored, and start looking around for something shiny to entertain them. Now, however, it is finally on its way; publisher Midway has stated that it will be hitting shelves on February 22nd.

Better late than never I suppose, and there is a silver lining in that Epic has had time to sort out the PS3 mod tools, so the PC community has already generated a decent number of levels and mods to try out.
