RPG fans weep - FFXIII rumoured to be delayed until...

*deep breath*...Spring 2010. Erk.

Okay, it's unconfirmed thus far, but the news doesn't sound promising. Industry analysts on a Japanese trade site have apparently suggested the game will be put back to the above date. Not only that, but the haste with which Square-Enix themselves hurriedly denied early rumours that the game would be released sometime late this year leads us to believe that there may be some truth in this.

Whenever it does eventually arrive, we're certain the wait will be worth it - it usually is - but in the meantime it might be best to dust off your copy of FFXII and blast through one of the finest role-players in recent years once more.

If, however, you're after something a little different, then we'd like to point you in the direction of dark, quirky Koei RPG Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3, out on PS2 next week. At a whopping eighty hours long, it should at least make the wait for FFXIII a couple of months shorter.
