Tiscali deny they're stopping gamers playing online - put the blame on upgrades and refinements to network

cod4.jpgGamers may still be angry with ISP Tiscali due to some horrible times they’re having trying to get some online gaming done, but the huge company flatly denies that they’re stopping users from playing online.

“Reports suggesting that we were deliberately blocking specific games are incorrect. We are constantly working to upgrade and refine our network to ensure our customers can enjoy their favourite applications, “said Tiscali to Next-Gen.

So this sudden inability to play our favourite games online is due to Tiscali attempting to offer us BETTER service? Pull the other one. A lot of folks in the epic (currently) 44 page thread over on the Tiscali forums seem to find themselves being regularly disconnected from the likes of EVE and Call of Duty 4.

Thankfully a number of gamers seem to be finding themselves with a service that is indeed improving, so fingers crossed it’ll all be back to normal soon enough.

My friend uses Tiscali as his ISP and has been having loads of problems connecting to COD4:MW multiplayer mode during peak hours.

Over the weekend they must have changed something in our area (Swindon) as he was able to play without any issues.

No doubt Tiscali have listened to the complaints of the customers and have started allowing the services required for games like COD4 to work at peak hours.
