Alone In The Dark arriving late on PS3, but in better shape
Well, here's a turn up for the books. While we were disappointed to learn that the PS3 version of Atari's superb-looking new Alone In The Dark game, we've learned today that developer Eden Studios has plans to make the PS3 version better than the 360 one.
According to Eurogamer's German site, "Eden Studios wants to adapt it instead of just doing a simple port. Additional content (episodes) might be possible for the PS3 version."
Which is obviously great news. Naturally, we'd prefer to have it earlier, but if it's going to be late, it might as well be a super-duper new and improved version.
The game is set to have a fairly episodic structure as it is - Eden have cited TV dramas like 24 as an influenced on the game being broken up into bite-sized segments. So any additional content released in this way would slot into the action very nicely. Not to mention the lack of a file size limit for DLC on the PlayStation Network would give Eden plenty of space to play around with.
Nice to see someone making the effort, basically.
