Bioshock 2 heading to PS3

bioshock.jpg

A job posting on 2K Marin's website has all but confirmed that the sequel to Ken Levine's fantastic Bioshock is going to arrive on PS3 this time.

The site advertises several positions, but there's one for a level designer which specifically requests experience working with Sony's console.

Levine's involvement this time appears to be more supervisory than hands-on, though we imagine that he'll have the ultimate say in how the story goes. At least, we hope so. It's rare to see such intelligent plotting in a videogame as was demonstrated in the original, and if there's one area where Bioshock 2 stands to lose most, it's in its story.

Bioshock 2 will be arriving in the third quarter of next year - nothing beyond this is known about it so far, though rumours suggest a prequel may well be in the offing.
