PSN gets another lame weekly update
Potentially, the PSN is a glittering jewel in Sony's PS3 crown. Potentially. Games like Riff, flOw and PixelJunk Monsters show exactly what can be produced on the service with a bit of invention and a lot of effort. And some forthcoming titles - Elefunk, PixelJunk Eden, Bionic Commando: Rearmed - show plenty of promise.
But it's not enough. Every week I look forward to the PSN update, hoping against hope that something good will be released. And the vast majority of weeks I look at the list and sigh. Even the PSOne games have disappointed - Sony's first console has one of the biggest software libraries of any machine, yet so far we've seen barely more than a handful of games, only about two or three of which have aged well.
There are two slight saving graces this week. Hit the jump to see the full list and find out what they are.
Rocketmen: Axis of Evil - demo
God of War Chains of Olympus - PSP demo
Bishi Bashi Special - PSone game
Command and Conquer - PSone game
flOw - PSP game

So there you have it. A crazy button-mashing Japanese PSone game and a fairly decentish PSP port of one of PSN's better games that's been available on the US store for a few weeks - that's about the best of a bad bunch. Bishi Bashi might get my money this week, but I'm hoping for more in seven days time - would it be too much to ask for echochrome? Here's hoping I'm not let down once again. At least tomorrow I'll be getting my hands on the Siren demo.
