PSP gets gorgeous metallic blue makeover

In the US, anyway. It's being launched to coincide with the release of Madden NFL 09, which happens to hit store shelves Stateside (on the sea shore) in August. The 12th, to be precise.

The package comes to a cent under $200, with a UMD video named NFL: In Just One Play", a PlayStation Network voucher to get music game Beats for free from the PlayStation Store, and a 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duo to boot. Nice.

Chances of us receiving this lovely new model in Europe? Slim to none, I'm betting. If we can't even have that lovely gunmetal PS3, what hope have we got of getting our hands on Sony's underperforming handheld? Exactly.

Still, import-savvy folks will undoubtedly be rubbing their hands together with glee. And it's a day before us Europeans get three new DS colours, so it looks like Sony has inadvertently stolen a teeny-tiny bit of Nintendo's thunder.

Play.com are listing the Gun Metal PS3 (40Gb) to UK customers, so perhaps we'll have a 'Lite' chance, rather than a 'Slim' chance, of seeing this PSP colour?

I have the similar-coloured "Phat & Heavy" model straight from Japan :)
