Valkyria Chronicles gets release date, demo
It's been confirmed that Valkyria Chronicles will be coming to PS3s on 14th of October. Not only that, but a demo's going up on the PSN on the 9th of October, which'll include a couple of early levels for you to try. The game's set in an alternate 1930s Europe, where the country of resource rich Gallia has come under attack from the East European Imperial Alliance. You'll control a group of Gallian nationals tasked with turning back the invasion, with the gameplay split between a turn based overhead map view and individual combat.
This looks to be exactly the type of game that the PS3 is in need of. Despite selling poorly in Japan, the 360's managed to get a few solid RPG titles on the system, with games like Lost Odyssey and Inifinite Undiscovery. Games like this should help provide a little competition now that Final Fantasy XIII's gone multiplatform.
