Zack Snyder signs deal to develop games with EA

ea logo.jpgDawn of the Dead director Zack Snyder has signed up with EA to developer three video games. Although EA keeps ownership of the games, EA could also work with Snyder in making film adaptations of said games. There's no news of what games we might expect to see from the deal, which is unsurprising given that these are still very early days.

In many ways, Zack Snyder should fit nicely into the game developing scene. He's used to working with special effects and CG heavy films (300, the upcoming Watchmen). I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the games will feature plenty of gore and nastiness, given his film portfolio of 300 and Dawn of the Dead. It's not surprising that we're seeing more and more talent coming in from Hollywood. Game production values are going up and the technology's improving, bringing more and more crossover with film and movie production.
