F.E.A.R. 2 refused classification in Australia
Shoot 'em up F.E.A.R. 2 has been refused classification in Australia. This means that it's illegal to sell or even import copies, in effect banning the game. It was apparently banned for featuring "high impact violence," citing several cases in the game where characters are gruesomely blown to piece by gunfire Unsurprisingly, Warner Bros. Interactive is looking to appeal the decision.
A fair few games have been refused classification in Australia this year, with Fallout 3 and Dark Sector also refused classification, although they were later released in censored format. Other titles such as Silent Hill: Homecoming and Shellshock have been banned outright. Still, I'm guessing that Warner Bros. would rather cut the game for release rather than have no release at all.
