Call of Duty series sells 35 million copies

worldatwar.jpgThe Call of Duty series has shifted a lot of copies, with a recent report on Reuters putting the total number of copies shifted by the series at over 35 million, globally.

The Call of Duty franchise doesn't attract the instant recognition of franchises like Mario, Halo, or God of War, but there's little denying that they are -bar a couple of exceptions- exceedingly well made games. They don't have the tactical depth of games like Rainbow Six or even Halo and the strong reliance on pre-scripted events may put people off. But few will deny that the series is easy to play, features great multiplayer, and has provided more than its share of really epic, blockbuster moments.
