A demo of horror shooter F.E.A.R. 2 will be landing on the PSN this Thursday. The sequel takes place shortly after freaky psychic monster girl Alma lays waste to the city in part one, and will feature the prequel's slo-mo gunplay. The full game's due for release on the 13th of February.

What little we've seen of the sequel looks promising, with pictures that show a world beyond the grimy corridors, office blocks, and abandoned buildings that seem to characterise the environments of the first game. F.E.A.R. 1 had some amazing AI which -mostly- saved the game from feeling overly repetitive. Even though you spent most of the game clashing against squads of identikit soldiers , the squad dynamics and the way that teams worked together to flush you out meant that encounters rarely played the same twice. Nevertheless, I'm hoping that they manage to update the formula at least a little.
