The first review of Killzone 2 has landed, if this forum post is to be believed, with Official PlayStation magazine giving it a full five out of five, the only PS3 exclusive aside from MGS4 to do so. A line from the review apparently reads "Without a doubt Killzone fans, action, and shooter fans of any stripe will instantly tag this sequel as a powerful contender for the best game of 2009."

If it turns out to be true, it's exactly what the PS3 needs. While LittleBigPlanet garnered a lot of critical acclaim, the PS3 is crying out for a well-made, graphically impressive Blockbuster shooter. Sony's probably hoping that Killzone 2 will be a real flagship game, something that -Metal Gear Solid 4 notwithstanding- the PS3 has yet to see.
